This is a new campground conveniently located right outside of Mountain City, Tennessee, at the base of Iron Mountain, directly adjacent to The Snake 421 route. They are a small cozy campground that has (10) full service campsites offering electricity, water and sewer. They accommodate all types of camping from tent camping to luxury campers and RV’s. They are riders and cater to their fellow riders. They are also one of our Official Information Centers for The Snake 421, aka the Best of the Snake, and can provide you with any information needed to travel this scenic ride. They can also provide any information needed to travel the entire combination of roads collectively making up The Snake. Their huge Map Wall also showcases several other great nearby chartered Motorcycle and Sport Car Rides.

Rustic Cabins
Roan Creek Campground features two rustic cabins which are available for rent for the weekend, or week. Each cabin features a kitchen complete with a full size fridge and stove, a full private bathroom, controllable heating and air, and sleeps up to 6 people.

Luxury Camping Tents
Luxury camping tents at Roan Creek Campground are available for daily, weekly, or monthly rental. Each luxury tent is rain proof and features solid wood flooring, a queen size bed, a mini refrigerator, power outlets, a ceiling fan, heaters, and a creek side view.
RV Sites
Roan Creek Campground is the perfect place to park your RV for the weekend, week, month, or year. Each RV site features a dedicated water hookup along with a 50 amp power hookups right along beautiful Roan Creek. We can accept RVs with a maximum length of up to 60′

Creeper Trail Campground is the best place to camp while riding the Virginia Creeper Trail. We are located at the start of the trail in Whitetop, VA. Riders can begin their ride directly from the campground and enjoy riding the entire trail to Abingdon, VA (34 miles) or to Damascus, VA (17 miles). Shuttle services are available to return you and your bike to Whitetop.
Creeper Trail Campground is a small mountain campground at 3534 ft elevation. We are located on a former Christmas Tree farm. Enjoy some of the most beautiful outdoor recreation sites in Virginia including hiking to see the wild ponies in the Grayson Highlands or visiting the two highest peaks in Virginia (Mt. Rogers 5728′ and Whitetop Mtn. 5518′).

Welcome to Switchback Creek Campground.We are a motorcycle and family friendly campground located in the mountains of North East Tennessee built by a rider. If you are tired of the hype and hustle of Deals Gap but would like exciting roads and beautiful mountain scenery then you have come to the right place. We are snuggled between three mountains at an elevation of 3,000 feet and just 2 1/2 miles from the crossroads US 421 and 91/133.
Take a leisurely ride on any of the roads leading out of Shady Valley or gather with a group and ride “the snake ” . There are 489 curves within a 12 mile radius of the crossroads.
Want to make this a family or group outing? There are various attractions available in the area. White water rafting, hiking on the AT, antique shopping, theaters, caverns, bicycling the creeper trail and many more activity’s within a days adventure.

Backbone Rock Campground is open for the 2021 season. Backbone Rock Campground is a small campground situated along the beautiful Beaverdam Creek at an elevation of 2,100 feet in northern Johnson County. This developed campground is popular with those visiting the nearby Backbone Rock, a tunnel originally blasted through the rock ridge for the railway. The creek side location with popular swim area and lush forest surroundings make Backbone Rock Campground particularly desirable during hot summer months. With 10 campsites and an adjacent large Civilian Conservation Corps- built reservable pavilion with lawn, Backbone Rock is a great option for a group to reserve the whole campground for retreats and other events.

The Laurel Creek RV Park is a full-service, RV-based campground (Sorry No Tent Camping Available). The 22-site RV park, located along the scenic Laurel Creek in Damascus Virginia is open year-round. The RV park provides a great spot from which to enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, and the many attractions of Damascus which is also the gateway to the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and is a destination for families wanting to experience the out-of-doors in a relaxing setting. In addition, many campers enjoy the convenience of Laurel Creek RV Park as a base of operations in order to take time out and explore this amazing tri-state area!

Blue Bear Mountain Camp offers year round camping experiences for every type of outdoor enthusiast. Car accessible tent and RV sites in a natural setting. The Purpose of Cherokee Cove is to provide a quiet, peaceful place where you, your family, or your group can come for a get-away. In order to promote peace and rest, we do not have public internet or televisions with cable or satellite. Cell coverage is limited as well. We consider this a blessing in today’s world where technology is oftentimes a distraction to healthy communication.
Cherokee Cove Family Christian Camp is located within approximately 200 private acres in the mountains of Northeast Tennessee, bordering the Cherokee National Forest.
This is the perfect place for your men’s, women’s, or youth retreat, family reunion, day conference, or private get-away!
