We are a small comfortable campground, located at the base of Iron Mountain, in the home town community of Mountain City, in beautiful North Eastern Tennessee. We are conveniently situated on a section of Hwy 421, known as part of the famous “Snake 421” Motorcycle and Sport Car Ride. Our beautiful parcel of land is private, with the back of the property bordering a flowing creek, providing a cool shady area to relax after your day’s activities.
We offer 11 full service camp sites with water, electricity, sewer, and WIFI. Stay at our new cozy cabin that has water, electricity, sewer, and WIFI. We can accommodate any type of camping from primitive tent camping to luxury campers and RV’s. All of our campers have use of our new clean bath house, a covered pavilion, our creek side deck, a large community fire pit and have use of our creek side common area.
We offer an amply stocked camp store for your basic camping needs, and are very close to many choices to shop for the products we do not offer. We are fortunate to be based in the great outdoor mega of Johnson County, Tennessee, which is rich with “Protected Natural Resources” that are waiting to be explored. Like Doe Mountain Recreation Area with over 8,000 acres of protected mountain terrain and Watauga Lake with most of its 110 miles of shoreline protected by National Forest. When you ride the “The Snake 421” Motorcycle and Sport Car Route, you travel through both Cherokee National Forest and Mount Rogers Recreation Area.
When you are in Eastern Tennessee, you are invited to camp with us and use our convenient cozy location as your base camp. Those who come as visitors usually leave as friends.
Bristol Parkway inn is located in Bristol, within 6.8 miles of Bristol Motor Speedway and 25 miles of Tweetsie Trail. Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, the 2-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Hands On! Discovery Center is 30 miles from the hotel. Our small cozy campground offers a variety of sites for tent and RV camping. Constructed on a hill on a family farm by a former resident, the campground offers quiet 300 degree views of the surrounding mountains. Built on a third Generation Dairy Farm after the sale of all the Cattle in late 90s, we’ve planted over three thousand trees on property mostly Walnuts,Oaks and Apples with a few rarely seen White Walnut(Butternut) and American Filbert(Hazelnut) Campers can harvest all they want in October.
Tri Mountain View Campground is located in the Northeast corner of Tennessee in the town of Shady Valley. With an elevation of 2,800 feet, Shady Valley is the second highest town in Tennessee. It is just 26 miles from the Bristol Raceway and the Bristol Caverns. It is just a 15 minute drive to Backbone rock and a short drive to the Appalachian Trail. The property was a Dairy Farm and went out of business in the late 90’s and since then there has been over 3,000 trees planted. Some of these trees include the rare Butternut and Hazelnut, but mostly White Pine, Walnut and Oaks. The property has approximately 1,000 feet of fishing on Beaver dam creek, so we recommend bringing waders. There is also a shower house, washer and dryer.

Welcome to Switchback Creek Campground.We are a motorcycle and family friendly campground located in the mountains of North East Tennessee built by a rider. If you are tired of the hype and hustle of Deals Gap but would like exciting roads and beautiful mountain scenery then you have come to the right place. We are snuggled between three mountains at an elevation of 3,000 feet and just 2 1/2 miles from the crossroads US 421 and 91/133.
Take a leisurely ride on any of the roads leading out of Shady Valley or gather with a group and ride “the snake ” . There are 489 curves within a 12 mile radius of the crossroads.

Two National Forests-114 Miles-1 Grisly Murder
The Murder Mountain Run motorcycle ride is an exhilarating and thrilling adventure that takes riders through the picturesque yet mysterious landscapes of North Carolina. This ride combines the adrenaline rush of motorcycle riding with the intrigue of exploring the infamous Murder of Charlie Silvers took place in 1830. Riders will navigate winding roads, dense forests, and breathtaking vistas, all while immersing themselves in the captivating history and legends surrounding this enigmatic place. Thus calling the ride “Murder Mountain Run”, as the motorcycle travels by the church were there are three headstones for different body parts found after the incident. The ride is 114 miles long and meanders from the Spruce Pine and Little Switzerland area, south on the Blue Ridge Parkway to NC 80. After a short ride on US Hwy 19E, it turns north on NC 80 through Kona, where the infamous murder happened before Christmas in 1831. The legend is told that Frankie Silvers wife to Charlie Silvers, killed her husband with an axe in a fit of jealous rage. Murder Mountain Run motorcycle ride promises to deliver an unforgettable journey filled with excitement, beauty, and a touch of mystery.

A series of four waterfalls located on Holston Mountain in the Stoney Creek community of Carter County, TN. The falls’ name, Blue Hole Falls, comes from the deep blue pool in front of waterfall #3 (the main fall).
Walhalla SC – Highlands NC – 30 Miles-3 States
The ThreeState28.com motorcycle ride Start in Walhalla, SC and head north on route 28 for 32 miles. Cross the SC/GA border, stay on route 28, cross the GA/NC border, and head into Highlands, NC. Blacktop S turns, sweepers and hairpins wind up and down the hills with glimpses of the mountains and the valleys throughout the ride along with twisties and elevation changes. This ride runs through the Sumter and Nantahala national forests with mountains, rivers and waterfalls and crossing through three states. Not a lot between Walhalla and Highlands, so, fill up before you leave Walhalla. No restaurants or other facilities for miles.
There are three rides on highway 28, the first section riding from South to North is the ThreeState28.com. This motorycle ride is 32 miles from Walhalla SC to Highlands NC, the second part is the Moonshiner 28 from Highlands NC to Franklin NC and the thrird part is TheHellbender28.com is from Franklin NC To Deals Gap NC 22 miles.

Backbone Rock Campground is open for the 2024 season. Backbone Rock Campground is a small campground situated along the beautiful Beaverdam Creek at an elevation of 2,100 feet in northern Johnson County. This developed campground is popular with those visiting the nearby Backbone Rock, a tunnel originally blasted through the rock ridge for the railway. The creek side location with popular swim area and lush forest surroundings make Backbone Rock Campground particularly desirable during hot summer months. With 10 campsites and an adjacent large Civilian Conservation Corps- built reservable pavilion with lawn, Backbone Rock is a great option for a group to reserve the whole campground for retreats and other events.

The Rattler Route 209 motorcycle ride North from Lake Junaluska to Hot Springs is a thrilling journey through the scenic beauty of North Carolina on route 209. Riders will experience the winding roads and breathtaking views as they traverse through the Great Smoky Mountains. The route offers a perfect balance of challenging twists and turns, as well as opportunities to appreciate the serene surroundings of Lake Junaluska and Hot Springs. There are over 234 twists, turns S-turns, switchbacks and curves on the Rattler 209 in 33 miles and is just as difficult as the Tail of the Dragon, The Snake and many other motorcycle rides for testing your riding skills.NC-209 is well maintained and less traveled than many of the other motorcycle routes. Nevertheless, it is well worth the time it may take to get there. It is a great ride. Our cabins are conveniently located to downtown Damascus, Abingdon and only 35 miles from Bristol Motor Speedway. Ride your bikes into town to catch a shuttle, grab a meal or just enjoy an ice cream. For any last minute forgotten items Food City Grocery is close by.
All our cabins come with a fully stocked kitchen. Microwave, toaster, oven, french press, and drip coffee pot with filters. You will find glasses, silverware, plates, mugs, pots and pans and all the basic supplies you will need to conduct basic cooking or food preparation in your cabin.
Bed linens, bath and kitchen towels are provided.
All of the cabins have a full bathroom.

The Birthplace of Country Music Museum explores how evolving sound technology shaped the success of the 1927 Bristol Sessions and highlights how this rich musical heritage still thrives in the Appalachian region and beyond. Through multiple theater experiences, interactive and stationary displays – along with a variety of educational programs, music performances, and community events – the exciting story of these recording sessions and their far-reaching influence comes alive. Rotating exhibitions from guest curators and other institutions, including the Smithsonian, are featured throughout the year in the Special Exhibits Gallery. The annual music Festival began in 2001 and has been a part of BCM since December, 2012. A 2015 Economic Impact Study showed that visitors to the Festival from outside the region had a $16.1 million impact on the region. The Festival generally hosts over 130 bands on 20 stages in downtown Bristol during the third weekend in September. Attendance has grown to approximately 45,000. Among its many accolades the Festival has been named as one of Rolling Stone’s “Top 20 Tours and Festivals”, and has won a Grand Pinnacle Award from the International Festival and Events Association.

The Birthplace of Country Music is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that seeks to perpetuate, promote, and celebrate Bristol’s rich musical heritage; to educate and engage audiences worldwide regarding the history, impact and legacy of the 1927 Bristol Sessions from which we derive our name; and to create recognition, opportunities, and economic benefit for our local and regional communities. BCM accomplishes this mission through its three primary branches (Museum, Festival, and Radio), special projects and events, and a multitude of community and educational outreach programs. Pisgah National Forest-81 Miles in NC-8 Waterfalls
The Copperhead motorcycle ride is a thrilling and scenic route that takes riders through the beautiful landscapes of North Carolina. This ride is known for its winding roads, breathtaking views, and challenging terrain. The ride start in the North Carolina Town of Brevard, southwest of Asheville, and continues in the Pisgah Forest on Route 276 NC. The first waterfall you must stop at the famous Looking Glass Falls. After taking some photos you will know what this ride is about. Water and the twist and turns like a Copperhead Snake.
Riders can expect to navigate tight curves and steep inclines as they make their way through the picturesque mountains and forests of Woodrow NC down Route 215 NC towards Rosman. Along the way, they can take breaks in charming towns, enjoy local cuisine, and soak in the natural beauty of the area and experience many more waterfalls and waterfall hikes.
