We are a small comfortable campground, located at the base of Iron Mountain, in the home town community of Mountain City, in beautiful North Eastern Tennessee. We are conveniently situated on a section of Hwy 421, known as part of the famous “Snake 421” Motorcycle and Sport Car Ride. Our beautiful parcel of land is private, with the back of the property bordering a flowing creek, providing a cool shady area to relax after your day’s activities.
We offer 11 full service camp sites with water, electricity, sewer, and WIFI. Stay at our new cozy cabin that has water, electricity, sewer, and WIFI. We can accommodate any type of camping from primitive tent camping to luxury campers and RV’s. All of our campers have use of our new clean bath house, a covered pavilion, our creek side deck, a large community fire pit and have use of our creek side common area.
We offer an amply stocked camp store for your basic camping needs, and are very close to many choices to shop for the products we do not offer. We are fortunate to be based in the great outdoor mega of Johnson County, Tennessee, which is rich with “Protected Natural Resources” that are waiting to be explored. Like Doe Mountain Recreation Area with over 8,000 acres of protected mountain terrain and Watauga Lake with most of its 110 miles of shoreline protected by National Forest. When you ride the “The Snake 421” Motorcycle and Sport Car Route, you travel through both Cherokee National Forest and Mount Rogers Recreation Area.
When you are in Eastern Tennessee, you are invited to camp with us and use our convenient cozy location as your base camp. Those who come as visitors usually leave as friends.
Bristol Parkway inn is located in Bristol, within 6.8 miles of Bristol Motor Speedway and 25 miles of Tweetsie Trail. Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, the 2-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Hands On! Discovery Center is 30 miles from the hotel. Selected rooms will provide you with a kitchen with a fridge, an oven and a microwave. All guest rooms in the hotel are equipped with a TV and a hairdryer. Welcome to Tri Mountain View Campground, where you can experience the beauty of nature while camping in the mountains of Shady Valley, TN. Our small cozy campground offers a variety of sites for tent and RV camping. Constructed on a hill on a family farm by a former resident, the campground offers quiet 300 degree views of the surrounding mountains. Built on a third Generation Dairy Farm after the sale of all the Cattle in late 90s, we’ve planted over three thousand trees on property mostly Walnuts,Oaks and Apples with a few rarely seen White Walnut(Butternut) and American Filbert(Hazelnut) Campers can harvest all they want in October.
Tri Mountain View Campground is located in the Northeast corner of Tennessee in the town of Shady Valley. With an elevation of 2,800 feet, Shady Valley is the second highest town in Tennessee. It is just 26 miles from the Bristol Raceway and the Bristol Caverns. It is just a 15 minute drive to Backbone rock and a short drive to the Appalachian Trail. The property was a Dairy Farm and went out of business in the late 90’s and since then there has been over 3,000 trees planted. Some of these trees include the rare Butternut and Hazelnut, but mostly White Pine, Walnut and Oaks. The property has approximately 1,000 feet of fishing on Beaver dam creek, so we recommend bringing waders. There is also a shower house, washer and dryer.
Walhalla SC – Highlands NC – 30 Miles-3 States
The ThreeState28.com motorcycle ride Start in Walhalla, SC and head north on route 28 for 32 miles. Cross the SC/GA border, stay on route 28, cross the GA/NC border, and head into Highlands, NC. Blacktop S turns, sweepers and hairpins wind up and down the hills with glimpses of the mountains and the valleys throughout the ride along with twisties and elevation changes. This ride runs through the Sumter and Nantahala national forests with mountains, rivers and waterfalls and crossing through three states. Not a lot between Walhalla and Highlands, so, fill up before you leave Walhalla. No restaurants or other facilities for miles.
There are three rides on highway 28, the first section riding from South to North is the ThreeState28.com. This motorycle ride is 32 miles from Walhalla SC to Highlands NC, the second part is the Moonshiner 28 from Highlands NC to Franklin NC and the thrird part is TheHellbender28.com is from Franklin NC To Deals Gap NC 22 miles.

Lake Junaluska to Hot Springs- 234 Curves-33 miles
The Rattler Route 209 motorcycle ride North from Lake Junaluska to Hot Springs is a thrilling journey through the scenic beauty of North Carolina on route 209. There are over 234 twists, turns S-turns, switchbacks and curves on the Rattler 209 in 33 miles and is just as difficult as the Tail of the Dragon, The Snake and many other motorcycle rides for testing your riding skills.NC-209 is well maintained and less traveled than many of the other motorcycle routes. Nevertheless, it is well worth the time it may take to get there. It is a great ride. Whether you’re a seasoned rider looking for an exciting adventure or a nature lover seeking a peaceful escape, the Rattler Route 209 promises an unforgettable experience for all who embark on this unforgettable ride.

We have three studio cabins, a four-bedroom lodge, and 12 unique hotel rooms at River Trail Inn!
Our cabins are conveniently located to downtown Damascus, Abingdon and only 35 miles from Bristol Motor Speedway. Ride your bikes into town to catch a shuttle, grab a meal or just enjoy an ice cream. For any last minute forgotten items Food City Grocery is close by.
All our cabins come with a fully stocked kitchen. Microwave, toaster, oven, french press, and drip coffee pot with filters. You will find glasses, silverware, plates, mugs, pots and pans and all the basic supplies you will need to conduct basic cooking or food preparation in your cabin.
Bed linens, bath and kitchen towels are provided.
All of the cabins have a full bathroom.

Two National Forests-114 Miles-1 Grisly Murder
The Murder Mountain Run motorcycle ride is an exhilarating and thrilling adventure that takes riders through the picturesque yet mysterious landscapes of North Carolina. This ride combines the adrenaline rush of motorcycle riding with the intrigue of exploring the infamous Murder of Charlie Silvers took place in 1830. Riders will navigate winding roads, dense forests, and breathtaking vistas, all while immersing themselves in the captivating history and legends surrounding this enigmatic place. Thus calling the ride “Murder Mountain Run”, as the motorcycle travels by the church were there are three headstones for different body parts found after the incident. The ride is 114 miles long and meanders from the Spruce Pine and Little Switzerland area, south on the Blue Ridge Parkway to NC 80. After a short ride on US Hwy 19E, it turns north on NC 80 through Kona, where the infamous murder happened before Christmas in 1831. The legend is told that Frankie Silvers wife to Charlie Silvers, killed her husband with an axe in a fit of jealous rage. Murder Mountain Run motorcycle ride promises to deliver an unforgettable journey filled with excitement, beauty, and a touch of mystery.

Backbone Rock Campground is open for the 2024 season. Backbone Rock Campground is a small campground situated along the beautiful Beaverdam Creek at an elevation of 2,100 feet in northern Johnson County. This developed campground is popular with those visiting the nearby Backbone Rock, a tunnel originally blasted through the rock ridge for the railway. The creek side location with popular swim area and lush forest surroundings make Backbone Rock Campground particularly desirable during hot summer months. With 10 campsites and an adjacent large Civilian Conservation Corps- built reservable pavilion with lawn, Backbone Rock is a great option for a group to reserve the whole campground for retreats and other events.

The Virginia Creeper Trail is a recreational trail (rails to trails) located in Southwest Virginia (SWVA). The Virginia Creeper stretches 34 miles from Abingdon, Virginia down through to the lovely town of Damascus, Va (known as the Heart of the Va Creeper) along the Whitetop Laurel River and up to its highest point Whitetop Station near the NC State Line at Whitetop, Virginia. On this section of the trail (Whitetop to Damascus) you will ride your rental bike from Whitetop Station down to historic Green Cove Station. Then travel through the Jefferson National Forest to the community of Taylors Valley along the Laurel River (watch out for the trout in the stream) back to Damascus. Then grab a bite at one of our tasty local restaurants, pick up a few t-shirts and souvenirs, and spend the night in one of our towns comfy beds. You will love it here!
