We found our dream living in Butler, Tn. and want to share it with others. When we purchased our property we were looking for a place to start our retirement. A rich history of the Appalachian people as well as the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and Watauga Lake inspired us to create a space to share with others.

Like Doe Mountain Recreation Area with over 8,000 acres of protected mountain terrain and Watauga Lake with most of its 110 miles of shoreline protected by National Forest. When you ride the “The Snake 421” Motorcycle and Sport Car Route, you travel through both Cherokee National Forest and Mount Rogers Recreation Area.

Constructed on a hill on a family farm by a former resident, the campground offers quiet 300 degree views of the surrounding mountains. Built on a third Generation Dairy Farm after the sale of all the Cattle in late 90s, we’ve planted over three thousand trees on property mostly Walnuts,Oaks and Apples with a few rarely seen White Walnut(Butternut) and American Filbert(Hazelnut) Campers can harvest all they want in October.
Tri Mountain View Campground is located in the Northeast corner of Tennessee in the town of Shady Valley. With an elevation of 2,800 feet, Shady Valley is the second highest town in Tennessee. It is just 26 miles from the Bristol Raceway and the Bristol Caverns. It is just a 15 minute drive to Backbone rock and a short drive to the Appalachian Trail. The property was a Dairy Farm and went out of business in the late 90’s and since then there has been over 3,000 trees planted. Some of these trees include the rare Butternut and Hazelnut, but mostly White Pine, Walnut and Oaks. The property has approximately 1,000 feet of fishing on Beaver dam creek, so we recommend bringing waders. There is also a shower house, washer and dryer.

Chattahoochee Forest-50 Miles-Best Ride in Georgia
TheGeorgiaDragon.com motorcycle ride is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest and the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northern Georgia with its 50.5 miles of twisties, curves and magnificent scenery is definitely one of the best motorcycle roads in Georgia. For my motorcycle rides we will go with the local name aka Georgia Dragon as I have another great ride called the SuchesLoop.com. Seasoned Motorcycle riders will find the road challenging due to the elevation changes. Take this ride a bit slower to enjoy the spectacular scenery. TheGeorgiaDragon.com motorcycle ride starts in the town of Dahlonega (First major US town gold rush back in 1828) and runs north on Route 60, then merging with US-19 and then turn right on to Route 180 called Wolfpen Gap Road steep elevation changes and switchbacks. The ride continues through the mountains to US Highway 129/19. Then make a right and head south back to Dahlonega to complete the Georgia Dragon!

We are snuggled between three mountains at an elevation of 3,000 feet and just 2 1/2 miles from the crossroads US 421 and 91/133.
Take a leisurely ride on any of the roads leading out of Shady Valley or gather with a group and ride “the snake ” . There are 489 curves within a 12 mile radius of the crossroads.

The Snake 421, aka The Best of the Snake, is a really nice 37 mile section of The Snake, offering 489 curves while crossing 3 mountains and traveling through one beautiful valley. It travels through Johnson County, Tennessee and Washington County, Virginia. It is considered by many as one of America’s favorite chartered Motorcycle and Sport Car Rides. Two National Forests-114 Miles-1 Grisly Murder
The Murder Mountain Run motorcycle ride is an exhilarating and thrilling adventure that takes riders through the picturesque yet mysterious landscapes of North Carolina. This ride combines the adrenaline rush of motorcycle riding with the intrigue of exploring the infamous Murder of Charlie Silvers took place in 1830. Riders will navigate winding roads, dense forests, and breathtaking vistas, all while immersing themselves in the captivating history and legends surrounding this enigmatic place. Thus calling the ride “Murder Mountain Run”, as the motorcycle travels by the church were there are three headstones for different body parts found after the incident. After a short ride on US Hwy 19E, it turns north on NC 80 through Kona, where the infamous murder happened before Christmas in 1831. 130 curves-22 Miles-Largest Dam East of the Rockies
TheHellbender28.com motorcycle road is located in North Carolina and is a 22-mile ride between Johnson Gap in Stecoah, NC traveling to Deals Gap at the beginning of the Dragon. From Johnson Gap, The Hellbender starts its way through the beautiful smoky mountains with challenging turns for cars and motorcyclists. On the way you will pass by several unique locations such as Fontana Lake where there are pull-offs to take a photo of the views. Then continuing on you will cross the top of the Fontana Dam, and Fontana Lake. This dam was created as a hydro electrical power facility for World War II by the Tennessee Valley Authority in 1942. The dam is 480 feet high and 2,365 feet across the Little Tennessee River and is the highest dam east of the Rocky Mountains. The 2000 plus famous hiking trail, the Appalachian Trail also crosses the top of Fontana Dam. After passing Fontana Village, a peaceful lake resort you end up at the end of this 22-mile run which dead ends in to highway US129 the beginning of Dragon.

Backbone Rock Campground is a small campground situated along the beautiful Beaverdam Creek at an elevation of 2,100 feet in northern Johnson County. This developed campground is popular with those visiting the nearby Backbone Rock, a tunnel originally blasted through the rock ridge for the railway. The creek side location with popular swim area and lush forest surroundings make Backbone Rock Campground particularly desirable during hot summer months. With 10 campsites and an adjacent large Civilian Conservation Corps- built reservable pavilion with lawn, Backbone Rock is a great option for a group to reserve the whole campground for retreats and other events.

The views and surrounding lake-front are spectacular. Our fine floating facility includes a General Store complete with Lookout providing beautiful views of South Holston Lake. Our Lookout provides a great gathering place for customers. The Lake View Dock General Store provides a full line of fishing, camping, and boating equipment and supplies.
Gas, ice and a wide range of food are available in our store. The Wheelhouse Restaurant is a casual walk up restaurant specializing in made to order breakfast, custom made pizzas, hoagies, and salads with fresh summer ingredients. Serving a variety of cold draft beer and fresh brewed iced teas.
